Diffusion des thèses de doctorat
La diffusion des thèses de doctorat est une obligation légale. Vous pouvez choisir de diffuser votre thèse en accès restreint (Intranet) ou en accès ouvert (Internet) immédiat ou différé après une période d’embargo. Les thèses confidentielles sont les seules à ne pas être diffusées, ni sur Intranet, ni sur Internet. A l’issue de la période de confidentialité accordée par l’établissement, leur diffusion sera automatique et obligatoire.
Ce tuto revient sur chaque cas de figure (2 minutes 40)
Que vous publiiez votre thèse sur Internet ou sur Intranet, vous pouvez choisir de lui attribuer une licence Creative Commons (licences CC). Ces licences permettent de préciser les conditions de réutilisation de vos travaux par des tiers, de faciliter une diffusion plus large que sous les conditions du droit d’auteur traditionnel et donner ainsi une meilleure visibilité à vos travaux de recherche.
Le cas échéant, vous devrez choisir la licence voulue sur la 2e page de l’autorisation de diffusion et apposer le logo ou la mention de la licence sur la page de garde de votre thèse. Attention, le choix d’une licence est définitif. Une fois une licence apposée, vous ne pourrez plus la modifier pour une licence plus restrictive.
Il existe 6 licences Creative Commons qui vous permettent de choisir ce que vous autorisez ou n’autorisez pas en terme de réutilisation de vos travaux :

Publishing PHD theses
In France, sharing your PhD thesis dissertation is a legal obligation. You can choose to publish it with a restricted access (Intranet) or with full access (Internet) without any delay or after an embargo period. Confidential theses remain unpublished during the confidentiality period granted by the university but will be published automatically when confidentiality ends.
Creative Commons Licenses
Whether you publish your thesis on Intranet or on the Internet, you can choose to apply a Creative Commons License (CC licenses) to your work. These licenses enable you to specify the conditions under which third parties may reuse your work, they help share your work more easily than with traditional copyright conditions and thus give your research work greater visibility.
In that case, you must tick the license you want to apply on the second page of the authorization of publication and add the logo or reference to the license on your thesis front page. Please note that the choice of license is final. Once you apply a license, you cannot change it later for a more restrictive one.
There are six different license types, enabling you to choose which reuse you allow or do not allow for your work:

Attribution – Non Commercial: anyone using your thesis must credit you. Any modification, transformation or adaptation of your thesis is authorised, but any commercial use is prohibited. |

Attribution – No Derivatives: anyone using your thesis must credit you and is not allowed to modify, transform or adapt your thesis. Commercial use is, however, permitted. |
