What is a learning lab for ?

The university library provides a flexible, comfortable and original room dedicated to training and/or group work. This Lab allows for the implementation of innovative teaching practices (project-based teaching, design thinking, brainstorming...), encouraging collaborative work, interaction, creativity and the involvement of each participant.
It can be used as part of a course as well as a meeting room, or even for a project group work session.
A few key words characterize it: creativity, pedagogy, modularity, collaborative, innovative, experimental, digital.

What is the learning lab ?

It is a room with a capacity for 19 seats. The entire space is modular thanks to its rolling furniture. A writing wall is available for users to let their creativity speak for itself. Other supports for written expression such as post-its and mini whiteboards complete this equipment.
The Learning Lab is also equipped with a display sharing system (ClickShare) and two video projectors (one interactive).

Whom is this service for ?

How to use it ?

Before your visit:
You have to fill in the reservation form, remembering to detail your project and your request. There are no time limits: for instance, you can book the room for a full day.

Be careful, the reservation is not automatic. We will answer within 48 hours (except on weekends), in order to confirm the reservation slot. This confirmation will also allow us to define your needs in terms of support for the use of the room and its tools (visit, presentation workshop, equipment demonstration). If your need consists in setting up new teaching methods, you can contact the iCAP service at the following address: formation.icap@univ-lyon1.fr
In addition, you will find the software installation files, as well as the user guides in the toolbox located on the right of this page (for the ClickShare system and the creation of a questionnaire with ActivOffice).

D-Day:

Simply show up at the BU Science front desk with your library card or ID to access the Learning Lab.
If you made an appointment, a member of the Learning Lab team will assist you in your installation.

Following your use of the Learning Lab

Since the evolution of this service is based on experimentation and feedback from its users, we will collect your opinion on the room and on the use you had for it (online evaluation questionnaire, occasional focus groups, or individual interviews). The objective is to improve our service offer to ensure its relevance to the users’ needs.
